Departure
26. December 1569
Christmas was only yesterday, and yet there is already an eagerness in the air about an adventure to come. Anchored in the harbor, ships are being prepared and loaded. Hundreds of settlers, simple farmers, wealthy merchants, and clergymen, are getting ready to embark on a journey towards a new home.
As an experienced sailor, I have the honor to lead the fleet safely to the New World. The last goods are loaded and the crews are highly motivated. We should be able to sail on the next tide.
